Right now, Thunder Rosa is at the helm of the AEW Women’s division. She would claim the AEW Women’s World Championship from Britt Baker earlier this year, and has made three defences since, defeating Nyla Rose, Serena Deeb, and Marina Shaifr – all in AEW. However, Rosa has bigger plans as AEW Women’s World Champion. She wants to wrestle the best of the best from all around the world. Now, she has a chance to wrestle in Mexico, as Taya Valkyrie has called Rosa out.
Taya Valkyrie Says That Thunder Rosa Needs To Beat Her To Prove Herself As The Best
Last night at AAA Triplemania XXX: Tijuana, Taya Valkyrie would come to the ring and would issue a challenge to Thunder Rosa. Taya claimed that if Thunder wants to prove herself as the best women’s wrestler in the world, she needs to face her. She added that Thunder knows where to find her and can come on down to AAA anytime she’s ready for a fight. Rosa would quickly accept on social media, with this match likely to come later this year at AAA Triplemania XXX: Mexico City in October.
Taya is the current Reina de Reinas Champion, having won the belt from Deonna Purrazzo in Impact Wrestling. She also hold the MLW Featherweight Title, having defeated Holidead to claim it in early May. This makes her a decorated champion at the moment, and aside from her brief and uneventful run in WWE as Franky Monet, she’s proven to be a top star everywhere she goes.
She could well be calling out Thunder Rosa with motives to get into the AEW Women’s division, a company where her husband wrestles as Johnny Elite on a per-appearance deal. There’s even a good chance for a mixed tag team match there, with Rosa potentially teaming up with her mentor Dustin Rhodes for a big match.
Thunder Rosa is also keen on wrestling in Japan once again, and has recently been booked in a match against Miyu Yamashita for TJPW. In AEW, Rosa will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship at Forbidden Door, taking on Toni Storm.
