The Ecuadorian Marlon Vera, that blasted Rob Front to pieces last month at the UFC 53 Vegas, now questions Henry Cejudo’s unpredictive personality.
According to the Bantamweight rising star, it doesn’t make sense to seek retirement and then ask to come back to the UFC just two years later.
Marlon Vera Questions Henry Cejudo’s Retirement – Maybe He Tested Positive For PEDs
While the real reason why Henry Cejudo requests to retire remains unknown, Marlon Vera says that it might be due to two main reasons. The one that makes the most sense is that it is due to Henry’s worry about testing positive for PEDs. So before getting caught by the USADA, he decides to retire and avoid the testing.
The second reason is that maybe Tripple H did not calculate his expenses and is facing possible bankruptcy. To avoid it, he realizes that he still needs to work and asks to re-join the promotion.
“It’s weird he retires and now wants to come back. Maybe he tested positive and they told him it is positive so he retired and now he’s coming back. The little shit is probably putting something inside maybe, who knows…” – Vera says for The Schmo.
“Maybe he’s broke, maybe he wants to get that money again. This fighting thing is all good when you’re fighting, but the moment you stop fighting if you don’t have something figured out… You’re gonna get fu**ed. So most of these fools win a fight and they want to spend the whole money.” – The Ecuadorian adds.
Marlon Vera received payment for his win at the UFC Vegas 53 and on top of that got a bonus. The bonus for the fight is $50 000 per fighter, however, since Rob misses weight by 2.5lbs, the whole $100 000 bonus goes to Vera. What he did, or will do with this money he did not reveal. According to his logic, he better save it for some darker days. According to EssentiallySports, his net worth is somewhere in the range of $3.8 and $4.2 million, making him wealthier than Henry.
In his prime Henry Cejudo, on the other hand, stands as one of the best fighters in the UFC. He held titles in two weight divisions and was one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the promotion. His net worth, according to EssentiallySports is around $3 million as of 2021, two-thirds of which coming from UFC fights. There were days when he made more than $400 000 per fight. Back when he fought TJ Dillashaw and Marlon Morales.
With those days back in the past, he must seek a new wealth well as soon as possible. And for the Triple H, there is no better way to earn money than by fighting.
