When it comes to legends in AEW, one who stands above the rest in terms of history is Jake Roberts. One of the big stars for WWF in the 80’s, his career and life as a whole was filled with ups and downs. However, he’s been able to right the course of his career in his later years, and has found a steady role in AEW. He manages Lance Archer on TV, and helps to mentor the next generation of talent behind the scenes.
One such talent in the next generation has made some waves recently, that being MJF. He would no-show the fan fest before Double or Nothing 2022. MJF would nearly leave the state, but would show up to put over Wardlow. A worked-shoot promo on AEW Dynamite would follow, with fans still wondering what could come next.
Jake Roberts Was Made Sick By The Actions Of MJF
While speaking on the DDP Snake Pit Podcast, the legendary Jake Roberts would give his thoughts on the whole situation involving MJF. Needless to say, he was not a fan of anything with MJF this past week.
“For me, it made me sick. It really did. I couldn’t believe he no-showed this signing man, it’s a big thing with Tony Khan. He loves these signings and he wants those guys there. For me, you don’t miss something like that. This is your fans, your fanbase, these people paid to get in there and you no-show them? Then you go dark, nobody can get a hold of you?”
It would be noted by other sources that it was considered to make a wellness check to the hotel room of MJF after he no-showed the fanfest event. Other wrestlers were forced to stay late to make up for MJF being absent, which has led to the locker room at large being annoyed at best with the antics of MJF.
As of right now, MJF is reportedly suspended from AEW, with him being removed from the roster page, his merch pulled from ShopAEW.com, and Warner Media being asked to pull him from all AEW promotional material that will be aired.
