Despite having won the NXT Women’s Breakout tournament, Roxanne Perez is not going after the NXT Women’s Championship. Instead, she has taken aim at the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, currently held by Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne. However, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance insist that because they were in NXT first, they still deserve to be at the front of the line. Tonight, Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez will face Kayden Carter & Katana Chance, with the winner getting the next shot at tag team gold.
Cora Jade & Roxanne Perez Earn A Title Shot
Toxic Attraction were watching from the rebuilt “Toxic Lounge”, as Jade & Kayden would lock up in the ring. It’d be a stalemate, before Jade would grab the wrist lock. Kayden would block with an armdrag, before an overhand chop. Jade would fire back with a chop of her own, before Katana got the tag.
Kayden would launch Katana onto Jade, before she’d hit a quick facebuster on the mat. Jade would roll Katana up into pinfall for a one count, before Perez would get the tag. Perez got the roll up for a one count, before grabbing a quick armbar.
Katana was getting isolated, but a smart boot to the face would allow Kayden to get the tag. An STO on Perez would get a two count, before Katana hit the floating senton. She’d be slammed face first off the top rope, before avoiding a double suplex.
All four ladies hit the ring for a fight, but Jade & Perez hit dropkicks. Kayden would hit a lariat, before Katana helped send Jade & Perez to the floor. Jade & Perez would fight to regain control during the commercial break, but Kayden would control the ring.
A tag allowed for a double suplex from Perez & Jade, but Kayden rolled to the floor – but Perez remained on her case. Kayden would drive her back first into the apron. A backstabber and double foot stomp would do some damage in the corner, before Katana applied the boston crab.
Perez broke free before a tag to Jade. Kayden would take the rising knee strike, before getting the tag to Katana. The neckbreaker and 450 splash combo would be blocked, and Perez hit Pop Rocks for the victory. They will now face the tag champions next week at the Great American Bash.
Ikeman Jiro Gets Crushed By Giovonni Vinci
Last week, the former Fabian Aichner would prove that he’s got more to offer than just being a tag team wrestler. Under the new name of Giovonni Vinci, he showed style and strength on his way to a big win. However, one man who wasn’t impressed was Ikeman Jiro. Sure Aicher has style, sure he’s incredibly strong – but is he Style Strong? Let’s find out.
Vinci would start things off by shoving Jiro into the corner, before taking him right down to the mat. Jiro would hit some shoteis, before being dumped on his head with a German Suplex. Some heavy knife edge chops would follow in the corner, nearly splitting Jiro in half.
Jiro would fight back, but missed the moonsault. Springboard tornado DDT would spike Jiro down, before the sitout last ride powerbomb brought this one to an end. Will Giovonni Vinci win the NXT Championship? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
