Cole Karter was recently told to sleep with the fishes following his WWE exit, but he’s a good swimmer. When he caught wind of Ricky Starks announcing an FTW Championship open challenge – he’d put his name on the contract, and tonight will look to claim the outlaw championship for his own. However, Starks is rightfully pissed tonight after losing his chance to become AEW World Tag Team Champion – and could take that anger out on Karter.
Ricky Starks Defeats Cole Karter – Doesn’t Want To Fight Danhausen
Karter would look like a million bucks, but Starks would be able to quickly strike him into the corner. Starks would nail a heavy lariat, before Karter would nail some hard right hands. Dropkick would land, before Starks was sent to the apron and then the floor with a punch.
Back in the ring, Starks would nail a slam and the diving elbow drop. He’d keep the pressure on, as he attacked the wrist before going old school with a rope walk. Starks would strike down on Karter, before applying the rear chinlock. Karter broke free with a ripcord elbow strike, but he’d waste time – allowing Starks to get back to his feet.
Suplex was countered, and Roshambo would be set. Karter slipped free, before jumping over a spear and hitting the TKO. He’d miss the 450 Splash, and was run down with a spear for the finish. When you step up to Ricky Starks – you don’t waste time.
He’d say this was just a warm up, and called for another challenger. The music of Danhausen would hit – and he’d want to accept the second open challenge. Instead, this will happen next week on AEW Dynamite!
FTR Are Ready To Fight Like An Eight Year Old Girl At Death Before Dishonor
This Saturday at ROH Death Before Dishonour, FTR will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships against The Briscoes in a Best Two Out Of Three falls match. Their first meeting was perhaps the best tag team match of the year, and are looking to put on another classic.
Tony Schiavone would kick off an interview in the ring, with Wheeler saying he thinks 2022 has been a pretty decent year for FTR. Their biggest moment of the year was the dream match with The Briscoes, and they’re gonna top this on Saturday. They respect FTR, but they have no plans on having anyone taking the gold from FTR – or money out of their families pockets.
Harwood would tell a story of a young five year old girl, with a hole in the bottom of her heart. A cardiologist would tell her she needed to fight hard to recover, or would need open heart surgery. Three years later, she would see the same doctor – and her fight paid off. The hole was completely healed.
That’s the daughter of Harwood, and if she can fight that hard – so can her dad. At Death Before Dishonour, The Briscoes will need to fight like hell if they want to regain those belts – because FTR plan on fighting like an eight year old girl.
Jade Cargill Remains Undefeated
Jade Cargill has passed 500 days of being undefeated in professional wrestling, but she’s got two challengers close on her tail – looking for shots at the TBS Championship. Tonight with Kiera Hogan by her side – she will take on Athena & Willow Nightingale in a big time tag team match.
Athena would start up with Cargill, who would step out of the way and tag in Kiera Hogan. She’d send Athena to the mat, only to have her pop back up with a haymaker. Willow got the tag, and would hit the running crossbody for a two count. Athena would almost get a pinfall, before Cargill took a forearm to the face.
Hogan was sent to the floor, and Willow flew first to take out The Baddies, before Athena followed. Cargill would tag in and hit the running back elbow in the corner, before the Pumphandle Facebuster. Hogan would hit the spinning DDT, spiking Athena on the head.
Willow rushed in for the spinebuster, before Cargill & Athena would trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Athena was caught out of the air into a Fallaway Slam, but would spring back to her feet. Meteora would crush, Cargill, before Hogan took a powerbomb on the apron.
Stokely Hathaway would run the distraction, allowing Cargill to kick Athena into the steel steps. Cargill would hit the spin out powerbomb and Jaded in the ring, to claim the win.
