Cheerleader Jerry Harris, a star of the Netflix docuseries Cheer was sentenced to 12 years in prison for child sex abuse in late June 2022. On July 6, 2022, he was given the terms of his release once he finishes his time and it’s extensive as expected.
“Cheer” Star Jerry Harris Has to Register as a Sex Offender Among Other Rules After He Serves His 12 Years for Child Sex Abuse
First, there’s the obvious registering as a sex offender. Harris will also have to be involved in a mental health program and take his prescribed medication. Again, obvious for sex offenders.
He will also be expected to be in a sex offender treatment program. This could require psychological testing which seems to go hand-in-hand with being required to take his medications and being involved in the mentioned mental health program.
How can we forget that Jerry Harris is prohibited from making any kind of contact with the minors who were involved in the case? Sure, that last one is very “Released Sex Offender Checklist” but it also applies to any crime where the victim is still alive and living their life.
Originally, Harris was staring at a 50-year sentence after he pleaded guilty to receiving child porn and traveling to have sex with a minor. The state was aiming for 15 years but the judge dropped three years.
