Right now in AEW, Matt Hardy is stuck in a weird spot. He was booted from the Hardy Family Office faction by Andrade El Idolo, and while things looked promising with the AEW debut of Jeff Hardy? The personal demons of his brother took their tag team run to a screeching halt just before they were planned to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships. However, he’s got plans for when Jeff Hardy is back – and a potential name to round out a trio.
Matt Hardy Would Love To Team Up With Wardlow
On the latest edition of The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt would get a chance to talk about the new TNT Champion – Wardlow. He had the following to say about Mr. Mayhem.
“From the first time I met Wardlow, I really appreciated him. He was very respectful. Very nice, very kind. He’s a good guy. I see a lot of potential in him as far as being like a crossover-into-mainstream star, I think that would be possible for him. He’s a very talented guy, he can do so much more than you would expect him to for his size and his look, he’s extremely athletic. He’s also a very charismatic, good looking, dude, and yeah, I would love to do a trios run with Wardlow once Brother Nero takes care of himself, and he gets to where he needs to be, Matt, Jeff and Warlow together would be really, really fun. We can be Trios Tag Team Champs one day, if we get those titles.”
Wardlow has previously noted in interviews that when he started wrestling, his initial plan was to be an underdog babyface like Jeff Hardy. He learned the high flying style while wrestling in backyards, and still busts out moves from the top rope in AEW.
