The Royal family has been accused of using Lilibet in order to cover up Prince Charles’ Qatari cash scandal.
Meghan Markle’s Friend Accuses Prince Charles Of Exploiting Lilibet For PR Purposes-‘Predictable And Pathetic’
That is according to Royal expert and friend of Meghan Markle Omid Scobie. Charles happened to have gotten himself involved in a major scandal with reports that he had received over $3 million in cash from the former Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani.
While this was claimed to be a charitable donation, there were question marks over whether the funds had been donated in good faith and without any strings attached.
With that being said, Omid felt Lilibet’s introduction to the Royal family for the first time was being used to take away scrutiny from Charles.
In his comments, he said: “When the Prince of Wales was forced to announce…he will never again accept plastic bags filled with €500 notes for his charities, one of his senior aides also briefed journalists with adorable details of the heir’s first time meeting granddaughter Lilibet.”
These comments highlight the recent trend that has been emerging from the Royal family in trying to bury any negative controversy.
The institution had also faced this accusation when they confirmed they would not be publishing the findings of a bullying inquiry looking into allegations that Meghan had bullied Royal staff.
Although the suppression of the findings was justified on the basis of keeping the privacy of all those involved, it once again showed there may have been ulterior motives, just like the discussion over Charles’ meeting with Lilibet.
Omid’s comments did resonate on social media. A certain subset of people were of the view that this was an exercise of damage limitation on Charles’ part.
One person wrote: “Charles suddenly caring about Archie & Lilibet, after he’s involved in a scandal is so predictable and pathetic!”
So is it a coincidence or does Charles have some genuine affection? So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
