Nobody can say that Mike Tyson’s life has been easy. But all of us can agree that it has been a successful one. The Baddest Man on the Planet got some issues during his young days. He had a troubled childhood, violence, theft, drugs, and alcohol were not things unknown to him. However, amongst all this, he somehow managed to concentrate and make a successful career for himself.
According to the numerous interviews and public speaking that the boxer has had over the years, it can be concluded that all that wrath and aggression that he shows in the ring comes from within him. In his prime days, he is just angry at everything and uses this anger to demolish his opponents, making them not stand a chance against his brute force.
Mike Tyson manages to become the youngest heavyweight champion of the world in boxing. Unfortunately, his mother never lived to see him become this. Never enjoyed the pride of having her son on top of the most successful boxers of all time.
Despite her early death, Mike Tyson reveals that his mother had a great influence on him. On his life in general, on his personality, his daily activities, and discipline.
“I wanted to tell you this story after I started training in boxing. My mother didn’t sign me over yet. I’m in legal but I came back. My mother never sign. I said mom, I just met these guys, this white guy. I’ll stay to him and be the champ of the world and then be the youngest champ and my mother started looking at me. I said mom, I would I knocked out 10 guys. I’m the junior Olympic champion of this whole country.”
Even though his mother didn’t believe in him becoming a world-class boxer, she loved him and didn’t want to see him hurt. However, Tyson speaks of her death as one of the best things that happened to him.
Do not get this wrong. He is not all cheerful when his mother dies because she is the greatest ‘brake’ in his career. He has a completely different explanation of how her death changed his life for the better.
His mother’s death is a lesson to him on how to stand for himself. It made him tougher, and more untouchable, emotionally speaking. After that, he felt no compassion for his opponents. It is as if he wanted them to suffer as if that will repay his mother’s death. That’s why Tyson is so fierce and brutal in the ring. He is totally fearless and fights as if he fights for his own life.
“There’s no one that can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I’m just ferocious. I want your heart, I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah.” – one of the most memorable Tyson quotes during his prime.
