Aaron Henare has been unleashed on the G1 Climax for the first time ever, and he’s been off to a hot start. He beat down Hiroshi Tanahahsi to start his tournament, before being tapped out by Zack Sabre Jr. Tonight, he will go one on one with another hard hitter with Hirooki Goto – who has already found some success by defeating Tetsuya Naito to claim his first two points.

Aaron Henare Starts Fast With Heavy Strikes

They’d lock up hard in the ring, with Goto being able to shove Henare to the ropes. Headlock would be applied, before Henare tried to shove Goto off – and failed. Henare was taken to the mat, but would fight to his feet before looking for the kimura. Goto would get the ropes, before taking some leg kicks and a shoulder tackle.

This one spilled out to the floor, with both men thrown into the barricade. Henare would bounce back however, nailing a lariat to drop Goto. Back in the ring, he’d stomp away before hitting the springboard roundhouse kick. Heel hook would be applied to Goto, right in the middle of the ring, forcing him to lunge for the ropes.

Surfboard Stretch into the curb stomp would follow, before a cocky cover. Goto would get back to his feet and nailed the spinning lariat. Spinning wheel kick into the corner would be followed by the bulldog, getting a two count. Henare would fire back with a hard kick to the chest, and despite an attempt to block – Goto got rocked.

    Hirooki Goto Refuses To Quit

Henare would nail the Justice Knee in the corner, with Yuji Nagata watching from commentary – before hitting the Samoan Drop. Senton from the middle rope would follow, before an attempt at the Rampage Tackle. Goto would block before preventing Ultima from being applied.

Ushigoroshi would land, before a reversed version of the GTR and a lariat. Kick was blocked by Henare, but the forearm smashes from Goto were not. Goto would hit the ropes, but was caught with the Berzerker Bomb. Henare was unable to make the cover, and both men struggled to their feet before an exchange of strikes in the middle of the ring.

Goto would take a knee to the face before the Rampage Tackle for a two count. Ultima would be applied, and Henare got those fingers laced. Goto would fight like hell to break the hold, before Henare broke the hold to look for Streets Of Rage. Goto broke free before the spinning heel kick, but would hit Shoto out of the corner!

Chest kick would rock Henare, before the GTW would land for a near fall. Finally, the GTR would land – and Hirooki Goto continues his winning ways. He moves to 4 points, while Henare is lagging behind with a 1-2 record in his tournament. Could Goto shock the world and make the finals?

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
