Pete Davidson isn’t holding back when it comes to his feelings on future fatherhood. The SNL alum got candid with fellow comedian Kevin Hart during a preview for the second season of his talk show, Hart to Heart. ‘[I’m] definitely a family guy,” Davidson gushed. “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid. That’s like my dream.”
He went on to discuss details of what he envisions fatherhood to be like, saying, “It’s like, super corny, [but] it would be so fun. Dress up the little dude. It’s just like, I’m so excited for that chapter.”
Pete, 28, also mentioned how he’s trying to become a better version of himself to prepare to give his potential offspring the best life possible. “That’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is just trying to be as good as a dude, develop and get better so when that happens it’s just easier.”
Pete Davidson Reveals It’s His ‘Dream’ To Be A Father Someday, Says ‘I Wanna Have A Kid’
Pete’s longtime desire to have children must score him points with girlfriend Kim Kardashian, 41, who already has four children from her previous marriage to Kanye West. Since becoming an item in October 2021, Pete has been spotted out with Kim’s kids on numerous occasions and he seems to be adapting quite well to a step-father type of role.
“Kim loves how great Pete is with the kids. He’s a big kid himself and makes them laugh,” said a source. Davidson has developed such an attachment to Kim and Kanye’s brood that he even tattooed the initials of North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm on his neck.
While Davidson eagerly awaits his opportunity to have a child of his own, he understands much of his wish of becoming a father is tied to his childhood and his own relationship with his dad, Scott, who tragically died while working as a New York City firefighter on September 11, 2001. “My childhood was not great.
Dad passed early,” he said to Hart before adding that he “Just did not handle it great. It was just a f—king nightmare.” But despite the pain he endured, Pete relied on his close relationship with his mom, Amy, and his younger sister, Casey, who he described as “super supportive” of his quest to become a comic.
Although Pete’s backstory is devastating, he notes that his struggles helped shape him into the person he was meant to become. “I tell my friends that all the time, I’m like ‘if everything was fine, if my childhood was fine, I’d probably be a construction worker in Staten Island,” he said. “I’d be like the happiest guy ever, but that weird s–t that it does to you, made me love comedy.”
