Prince Harry’s changed accent has shown that he has grown apart from the Royal family.
Prince Harry’s Accent Shows He Has Taken After Diana At The Expense Of William-‘He’s The Friendly Prince, Charming, Connects With People, He Is His Mother’s Son’
That is according to speech and accent expert Emma Serlin. This admission arrives in the aftermath of Harry discussing his role as a Chief Impact Officer for BetterUp.
And as part of that process, Harry appeared in a video promoting the company where he spoke about the importance of mental resilience. This included having a variety of discussions with some of the biggest sports stars including Olympian Chloe Kim.
Not only that, but we got to see a glimpse of people within the mental health field such as psychologist Adam Grant and BetterUp’s Blu Mendoza.
And those conversations hinted at a change in Harry’s accent. During her comments, Emma said: “Harry’s accent now sounds much more rounded and middle rather than upper class.
“In a classic Harry way, he’s doing what we know him to be – he’s the friendly prince, he’s charming, he connects with people. He is his mother’s son.”
Nevertheless, it is important to take those comments with a pinch of salt. First of all, the changing accent is bound to be a natural evolution by virtue of the fact that Harry no longer lives in the UK.
Therefore, it is not surprising to see certain changes which may suggest that this was not intentional. Secondly, even if Harry had taken conscious steps to change his accent, he does have the benefit of his wife Meghan Markle who was an actress by trade.
And yet, Emma felt this was the real Harry coming through. She added: “He is now ‘of the people’ in a much more overt way.
“He has always toned the classic royal accent down and softened it, but previously he was much more aligned with the Royal Family.”
As long as Harry continues to give back, his accent will be the least of people’s worries. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
