July might be halfway over, but there is a lot of big shows yet to come – from Summerslam to the supercard that is Ric Flairs Final Match. The wrestling icon is lacing up his boots one last time, and is ending his career on his own terms. While numerous matches have been announced for this show, the main event was yet to be determined. We all knew Ric Flair would be involved, but now we know the exact match.
Ric Flair To Team Up With Son-In-Law Andrade El Idolo To Take On Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett
Given the age of Flair, few expected a singles match out of him – and we can now confirm that the final match of Ric Flair will be a tag team match. He will team with his son in law, Andrade El Idolo – and take on the team of Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett. It’s likely that Andrade will do the bulk of the work in this match, and Flair will likely only lock up with Jay Lethal – a man he’s trained extensively with on the build up to this event.
This is a better looking match than most expected, which many predicted would be an absolute mess. Previously rumored matches involved Ricky Steamboat, and even FTR – but it became a hard sell to find people willing to step into the ring with the 73 year old. Flair’s performance won’t be one of his best, but with one of the greatest minds the industry ever witnessed – he’s gonna have some tricks up his sleeves.
The Overall Card Is Stacked With Talent And Great Matches
As for the card as a whole, some of the highlight matches include the following.
Josh Alexander vs. Jacob Fatu for the Impact Wrestling World Championship
Clark Connors vs. Ren Narita
Motor City Machine Guns vs. The American Wolves
Jordynne Grace vs. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Rachael Ellering for Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship
The Briscoes vs. The Von Erics
All in all, this card is phenomenal – and should over deliver, and it could help get the eyes on some talents and promotions due to the pull that Ric Flair wrestling one final match will have.
