Thunder Rosa has been doing a fantastic job as AEW Women’s World Champion. From high profile defenses against Toni Storm & Nyla Rose, to travelling to Japan to face TJPW ace Miyu Yamashita, to an insane amount of community outreach work? She’s been a champion to be proud of.
She’s been keen on making her way around wrestling, and is involved with MMA once again as well – as a commentator for some upcoming Combate MMA events. She previously fought an MMA fight in November 2019 for Combate MMA, and has been working alongside American Top Team.
Thunder Rosa Trains With American Top Team
AEW fans will know them for Dan Lambert – who commonly appears alongside Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page. Lambert is the owner of American Top Team, and Rosa would describe the relationship they have behind the scenes. She’d have the following to to say while speaking with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald.
“Dan Lambert, the owner of American Top Team, him and I are pretty acquainted with each other. I love the fact that he tells the other fighters, ‘she fights too! She’s a badass. When she gets her next fight, I’m going to train her at American Top Team.’ ‘You will humble me.’ I went over there, trained, everyone is really nice. I’m always humble. Just because I’m champion and professional, I’m not going to come and tackle this game. When you come to the arena, that’s a different story.”
Open To Testing The Skills Of Paige VanZant
The biggest female name in American Top Team, is Paige VanZant – who recently signed with AEW as well. Rosa has crossed pathes with VanZant, and is welcome to facing her in the ring for MMA or professional wrestling.
“Absolutely, yes,” replied Rosa when asked if crossed paths with PVZ. “I talked to her and welcomed her to our world. She is another that, she never let her shortcomings stop her from what she wanted to do. She did MMA, bare-knuckle, now pro wrestling. She has other endeavors that help (outside) of professional wrestling and MMA that are bringing her a lot more money. You can’t knock other people’s hustles. MMA fighters, the ones that are very successful and on top, they are hustlers and not afraid of taking risks.”
When asked about a series of fights, including wrestling, MMA & boxing – Rosa had the following to say.
“That would be wild. I don’t say no to nothing, so if AEW wants to do it, go ahead. I’ll ask Combate Global, ‘give me a t-shirt’ and do some co-promoting.”
