Last week, AEW Dynamite closed out with CM Punk making his return to AEW – confronting Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Punk is the rightful AEW World Champion however, no matter what Moxley might have to say on the topic. Tonight, he’s kicking off the show, and has a lot to say.
CM Punk Is Here – With A Lot To Say
He’d get a great reception from the fans in AEW, and it’s been a while since they had a chance to hear him speak. Punk would start with the not so important things, starting with a rematch he wants to call for – and he wants Hangman Page to come out and get that rematch right here, right now.
Cowboy shit chants would break out, but no Hangman – which is some coward shit. Punk would say the apology must be as loud as the disrespect. If anyone else has a problem with the champion, hit the ring and face him. Jon Moxley meanwhile, might be number one in the heart of fans – but Punk is number one in the ring.
Moxley is always number two, as there’s always a guy better. He’s the third best guy in his group, a recurring theme in his career. Moxley might have held the fort down, but Punk is back. The Interim championship is temporary, and Punk is willing to test him. Punk would go after Eddie Kingston, saying he’s the third best Eddie he’s shared a ring with, and the second best Kingston he’s shared a locker room with.
Jon Moxley Won’t Stand By And Be Slandered
Punk is yet to defend the title, but he’s keen on defending it at All Out. Moxley will be the opponent, and he won’t be the first John that Punk will beat in Chicago to prove himself as a champion. The music of Moxley would finally hit, and Punk had a chance to do some snow angles in the ring as Moxley made his way to the ring through the crowd.
Unlike Punk, Moxley hasn’t been on the shelf – he’s been busting his ass, defending his title – and taking on the best in the world. He’d mock Punk for ‘dropping pipebombs’, as he writes checks with his mouth that his body can’t cash. Moxley would say that while Punk claims to the best in the world, he’s yet to prove it.
His words don’t mean shit, the title on his shoulder doesn’t mean shit. However, neither does the belt on Moxleys shoulder – until he beats Punk. Moxley called himself the Heart & Soul of AEW, which Punk is fine with – he’ll be the dollars and the cents.
Punk would be called out for only coming to AEW because he ran out of money, and Moxley would say that Punk ran out of guts and fighting spirit ages ago. Moxley would beg Punk to prove it, but and they’d trade blows in the middle of the ring. They’d be pulled apart by security staff, perhaps saving Punk from going back on the shelf.
