Issues between Darby Allin & Brody King have escalated very quickly. They’ve been attacking each other at autograph signings, and King would absolutely demolish Allin when they met in singles action on an episode of AEW Dynamite. However tonight, the stakes are a little bit different. You can’t just choke Darby Allin out, or drop him on his head and press his shoulders to the mat – you need to put him into a coffin, as we get the third Coffin Match in AEW history.
Brody King & Darby Allin Hold Nothing Back
Allin would kick things off with an attack from the shadows during the entrance of King. A thumbtack covered Skateboard attack would already have King bleeding – with his forehead opened, and thumbtacks jammed into his back. He’d thrown Allin into the timekeeper’s table and break the skateboard – before Allin would regain control with an Avalanche Code Red in the ring.
King would be able to find his vertical bare, and would throw Allin around the ringside area – into the barricade and over into the crowd. Allin was likely already ready to go into that coffin, but a press slam onto the thin ringside mats would follow. Running senton would follow, and King would pull a table out from under the ring to the glee of the crowd. A second table would quickly follow, before Allin would get his chest chopped – and a third table was broken before it left the ring.
Allin was placed on one table, and King went for a splash off the apron, and got nothing but wood. The lights went out, and both Buddy Matthews & Malakai Black were here to help King out – and Julia Hart stopped him from hitting the dive. Matthews would hit the Whale Hunt on Allin – and a four on one attack is a lot for even Allin to overcome.
It’s STING!
The cannonball senton through the table would follow, and the coffin was opened – and Sting was inside. His legendary bat would beat down Matthews & Allin, before he’d toss it to Malakai Black and begged him to swing. Black wouldn’t step up to the legend – instead opting to leave. Allin would hit the diving cannonball on King and almost sent him into the coffin, before a scoop slam onto the steel steps.
Sting & Black would stare each other down, as Allin would choke King with a chain to choke him out – and King fell perfectly into that coffin. The lid would close, and Darby Allin remained perfect in AEW coffin matches. However, the issues between The Icon Sting and Malakai Black remain interesting – and could be a sign of things to come.
