Leon Edwards heard about Drake’s bet and shared some advice for him. He asked Drake to back him up in future events and bet on the ‘right guy’. He asked him to send a Rolex for him, same as he did to some UFC fighters prior to this.

This unexpected turn of events at the UFC 278 surprised many UFC fans. Kamaru Usman was a favorite coming into the fight and as such he was expected to continue his run and ‘run through’ Leon Edwards with ease. However, that did not happen. Usman’s strong wrestling techniques and the strong striking policy are evidently not enough to bring Leon Edwards down. He lasted the five rounds and during the last round, he even looks fresher that the ex-champion.
Everything was pointing out that Kamaru will exit victorious from the event. And it is no surprise that Drake had this wrong perception of the outcome of the fight as well. He gambled on the now-former champion and has paid dearly.
Leon Edwards has a very bright future before him after the UFC 278. His fighting style and his fierceness did come to light after the bout. As a result, people praise him for his accomplishment. It is now, that everyone sees what he is capable of and how great his potential is.
Dana White on the other hand is a huge Kamaru Usman fan. Even though he was not publicly routing for the Nigerian Nightmare before the bout, according to his statements it could have been easily seen that he does see Kamaru winning the bout.
That is why now, he announced he will arrange a trilogy bout between the two as soon as possible. It will be a grand happening. It will most probably happen in the UK. Preferably at Wembley.
