Now, after someone swapped Leon Edwards and Jamahal Hill in the UFC 278 poster, people are asking for this man’s rights and responsibilities to be taken away from him. In other words, they ask for his firing.
UFC Vegas 59 Event was scheduled and took place on the 6th of August. During the event, there was a point where the promotion used the big screens to promote their next events that follow in the following 4 weeks.
Hardcore UFC fans and fellow fighters noticed one thing that was both funny and very unprofessional. On the fight card poster for the UFC 278, someone had made a mistake and put Jamahal Hill’s photo next to Kamaru Usman’s. UFC fans will instantly know that this is an impossible match-up. The one obvious explanation was that there is a mistake.
Kamaru Usman is to take on Leon Edwards on the 21st of August. This is the welterweight championship fight that fans wait for so long. Kamaru Usman has not fought since November last year when he won against Colby Covington.
MMA fans noticed the error and immediately started blasting the promotion for making such mistakes.
Derek Brunson is one of the first that reacted to the mistake. He pointed out the obvious and said – ‘Edwards is a bad boy. Fighting 205 and 170. Go off my boy!”
Belal Muhammad as well expressed his surprise that Usman ‘finally moves up to 205lbs’.
Ariel Helwani, the MMA journalist who has a label as someone that can easily get under fighters’ skin. Of course that he will not miss out on such a thing. “Hill’s about to make a historic turnaround. Good for him.” – he simply says.
There are numerous fans’ reactions to this as well. Most of them call for Dana White’s attention on this. In the end, this is very unprofessional, and someone needs to take responsibility for it.
