Elon Musk has slammed suggestions made by a recent article in the Wall Street Journal that he’s the reason that pal Sergey Brin filed for divorce from Nicole Shanahan in January. The publication claims that Elon was caught having a sexual relationship with Brin’s wife while they were ‘separated but still living together’.
Elon responded to the allegations by calling them ‘total BS and asserted that he and the Google founder were still friends. On July 25, Elon even shared a recent photo of himself with Sergey Brin from the previous night, adding validity to his assertions.

Musk believes that the Wall Street Journal has been responsible for a number of ‘hit pieces’ against him over the years, but is adamant that their latest attempt to slander him is baseless. “WSJ has run so many bs hit pieces on me and Tesla I’ve lost count!’ he tweeted before pointing out, “It’s embarrassing for them, frankly.” Musk then defended himself further by saying, “Sergey and I are friends and were at a party together last night! I’ve only seen Nicole twice in three years, both times with many other people around. Nothing romantic.”
Musk then debunked the Wall Street Journal’s entire article with one photo showing him and Brin gleefully partying with two unknown females at an undisclosed location. Musk was spotted in Mykonos last week but his private jet also made trips back and forth from Austin to San Jose. In a separate tweet, Musk ripped into the Wall Street Journal’s relentless efforts to smear him. “The character assassination attacks have reached a new level this year, but the articles are all nothing-burgers.
I work crazy hours, so there just isn’t much time for shenanigans. None of the key people involved in these alleged wrongdoings were even interviewed,” he wrote. Musk went on to question the publication’s credibility, saying, “WSJ is supposed to have a high standard for journalism and, right now, they are way sub tabloid. WSJ should be running stories that actually matter to their readers and have solid factual basis, not third-party random hearsay.”
The Wall Street Journal claimed that sources close to Sergey Brin and Nicole Shanahan had given them inside information on Elon’s alleged involvement with his longtime friend’s wife. Not only was it alleged that his sexual escapades with Shanahan ruined their marriage, but Elon even ‘dropped to one knee and begged for forgiveness’ from Brin. While it’s true that Brin and his wife have parted ways, Elon proved that there isn’t any apparent bad blood between him and his fellow billionaire buddy.
