Imagine seeing the Prime Minister of your country dancing and twerking on video. Only a few countries can brag that it wouldn’t be an ugly sight. Finland is definitely one of those countries.
Their ‘party animal’ prime minister Sanna Marin was caught on video dancing and twerking in a club while hitting on a glamorous model. This happened on the same night when rumors emerged that there is something between her and the Finnish pop star Olavi Uusivirta after they saw them dancing intimately.

Aside from all, one is sure. The Finnish prime minister knows how to party, knows how to have a good time, and is not afraid to show it.
It’s just that people look at it differently when a person is in her position. The decisions she needs to make bear a great responsibility. But, nonetheless, she doesn’t mind the criticism since she is sure she does her job perfectly.
As you’ve most probably guessed, all this is presented in the media as something completely negative. Criticism comes from all sides for the Finnish PM. It even went to the extreme of blaming her that she is on drugs.
While she took tests, and she showed that she is ‘clean’, she accuses the world of treating her with double standards. There are other examples of male politicians doing similar stuff without needing to explain themselves afterward.
The video shows her dancing with the social media influencer and ex-model Sabina Sarkka, with her hands around the model’s neck. The party took place at Helsinki’s nightclub Klubi which is part of the complex including a restaurant and a bar.
Sanna Marin, the party prime minister has voluntarily taken a drug test and paid for it herself. Of course, it came out negative and she followed it with a statement that she would never do such a thing while operating such a responsible position.
In a press conference after the ‘wild’ weekend, Marin confessed that she had been drinking lightly. But she didn’t take any kind of drugs. According to her, while in office, she is in an appropriate condition to lead the country at all times.
“I’m disappointed that it has become public.” – Marin told the press. “I spent the evening with friends. Partied, pretty wild, yes. Danced and sang.”
“I hope that, in the year 2022, we accept that even decision-makers dance, sing and go to parties.” – Marin added. “I didn’t wish for any images to be spread. But it’s up to the voters to decide what they think about it.”
After this, many Finlanders come out in her defense.
“Our prime minister is super.” – a pensioner in Helsinki approves of her behavior. “She has taken her very difficult job during a very difficult time, and she has made a first-class job. What she’s doing in her free time is not our business.” At last, even prime ministers have the right to party.
