Joe Rogan does appreciate a successful life story. He is also coming from a place where he was an unknown wannabe comedian and rose to be one of the most successful podcasters and one of the most recognizable sports commentators in the world.
Being included in the MMA sport and in the UFC promotion, Joe Rogan follows Conor McGregor from the very beginning. He got in touch with him for the first time when he made his debut, back in 2013. In five years Conor McGregor achieved great success. According to Joe Rogan, in 2018 McGregor was worth more than $100 million.
Joe Rogan Amazed By Conor McGregor’s Life Story
In a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Joe spoke about McGregor’s thirst for success and his incredible ability to work under pressure.
“I contacted him on Twitter in like 2013, right?! By 2018 he is worth a hundred million dollars. You know what Dana White said to me once about him that’s dead on? He said he eats pressure. He said that guy eats pressure, he just eats it. Conor just goes in there and the more pressure he experiences, the better he can perform.” – Joe explained on the podcast.
Conor McGregor is one of the best MMA fighters that stepped into the octagon. Moreover, one of the best that are part of the UFC. He is known as the ‘milk cow’ in the promotion and everybody knows that The Notorious means business.
An interesting story is that McGregor was living on welfare before he made his UFC debut back in 2013. He collected his welfare check, he put the $240 in his pocket, and went to Sweden to pursue his dream.
Joe Rogan has an eye for talent. He watched the debut fight and recognized McGregor’s interesting fighting style and his incredible strength. After the bout, he went to Twitter and posted a tweet, mentioning the future superstar.
“I just caught your fight, Conor. Congratulations, you looked sensational! Hope to see you in the UFC someday. Best of luck!” Not only did we see him in the UFC, but he is the single biggest UFC star in the past several years.
After every raise to glory, there is a sudden downfall. And this is exactly what happened to Conor. After an incredible 7-win streak in the UFC, he started losing. First, he lost to Nate Diaz, only to revenge himself one year later. After that he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov and finally, he lost his last two fights against Dustin Poirier.
Conor is currently recovering from an injury sustained at his most recent fight against Dustin Poirier. He is inactive for more than a year and since he claims that he is completely recovered now, we are waiting for his return to the octagon.
While the world is wondering who will he face next, Conor asks for a direct title shot against one of the champions. However, Joe Rogan and many other experienced guys in the MMA sport think that he should face someone below ‘champion level’ first.
