Tetsuya Naito is a dangerous man with his back against the wall, and finally got on the board after defeating EVIL on July 31st. Tonight, he has to face Aaron Henare. Henare is a man in his physical prime, and is dangerous. He’s beaten down Hiroshi Tanahashi in this tournament, and with the state of Naito’s body? That Ultima Full Nelson hold could be an instant loss for Naito. It’s the birthday of Henare, and what a present a win tonight would be.
Tetsuya Naito Can’t Afford Another Loss
Naito would block the opening strike from Henare, before being driven to the ropes. Henare blocked a kick from Naito, and would hit the punches to the midsection. Springboard kick out of the corner would be blocked, before Naito would hit the running hurricarana, sending Henare to the floor.
Naito got some speed hitting the ropes, but would fake Henare out with the signature pose instead. Henare would lure Naito to the floor, and drive him into the barricader, before hitting a shoulder tackle. He’d choke Naito on the barricade, being forced to let the hold go – as Naito’s father watched on from the crowd.
More heavy strikes would follow, before Naito was sent back into the ring. Henare would assume a striking stance and hit two kicks – before faking out Naito, and punching him in the jaw – before being scolded by the referee. Some forearm smashes on the mat would be followed by a heel hook – going after the ailing knees of Naito.
Naito would use the ropes to get free, before hitting a quick kick on Henare. Back elbow smash would set up a basement dropkick to the knee, before the stomps in the corner and a sliding dropkick. Henare would be able to ground Naito, before a stomp to the back of the head.
Happy Birthday Aaron Henare, Have A Destino
The crowd would remain firmly behind Naito, even as Henare battered him in the corner with some strikes. Henare hit the Justice Knee in the corner, before a mid-kick to the chest got a two count. Skull Kick would be avoided, and Naito would hit a tornado DDT to get a chance to breathe.
Driving back elbow smashes would land, before the hurricanrana attempt out of the corner. Naito would go for the running Destino, but was blocked into Berzerker Bomb. Henare would take the best strike of Naito and shrug it off before nailing the Skull Kick. Diving senton would follow, but only got a two count.
Full Nelson was applied, but Naito would fight free and hit the rolling Liger Kick – before the flying forearm was caught into Ultima. Naito would counter before being taken to the mat – and was just able to find the bottom rope. Henare would look for Streets Of Rage – and Naito countered before the punch to the stomach.
Streets Of Rage would be blocked into Destino for the two count. Full Destino would land, and Naito remains in the running for the C-Block finals. He just needs to keep winning – and as KENTA & Zack Sabre Jr. waiting for him.
