Chase Owens showed his true skills in his victory over Tomohiro Ishii, fighting like hell despite having his finals dreams crushed. Tonight, he has a chance to play spoiler to the tournament of SANADA – who enters tonight with his back against the wall. These two met in last year’s G1 Climax, with their styles meshing into a great classic wrestling match – with SANADA claiming the victory. Tonight, SANADA will look to beat Owens once again, and keep his dreams of making the final four intact.

Chase Owens Looks For Another Career Defining Match

Owens would call for a Too Sweet before the bell, but SANADA would just want the L.I.J fist bump. They’d lock up in the middle of the ring for some chain wrestling, with Owens grabbing control of the wrist. He’d take SANADA down to the mat, and maintained control through an arm drag attempt.

SANADA would nearly gain control off a Bow & Arrow Stretch, but Owens would slip free. A handshake was offered, and SANADA expected the boot to the midsection. He’d look to put Owens in the Paradise Lock – but SANADA was countered on the first attempt. SANADA got the hold the second time around, trapping Owens in the middle of the ring as he hyped up the crowd – and nailed the dropkick to the arse.

SANADA would get taken to the outside, and thrown into the barricade – before Owens hit the knee drop in the ring. Some mounted punches would follow, going after the previously fractured orbital bone of SANADA. Tight rear chinlock would be applied, and SANADA would fight free before being scooped up and slammed.

SANADA Keeps The Skull End Applied For The Referee Stoppage

Owens missed the second rope dive, before SANADA would leapfrog him and nail the dropkick. Plancha to the floor would keep the pressure on – and SANADA got a two count in the middle of the ring. Owens would throw an exchange of strikes, before trying to apply the STF – but getting a crossface instead – only for SANADA to get his boot on the bottom rope.

Package Piledriver would be blocked, and SANADA would look to set up Skull End. Instead, he was hit with Snake Eyes in the corner, before being taken into the sleeper hold in the middle of the ring. Owens would got for Skull End, and SANADA would be able to endure his signature submission.

SANADA rolled out of the way of the Muta Moonsault – only to land on the knees of Owens on his own attempt. Two knees to the face would follow, before Owens went for the Package Piledriver again – but was foiled. Pop up TKO and Moonsault press would get SANADA a two count. Skull End was applied like a pro, and Owens would pass out – forcing a referee stoppage.

Can SANADA make the finals? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
