The Professional Fighters League wants Nate Diaz. As he closes by to his release date from the UFC, the interest in ‘hiring’ him at PFL grows.
Nate Diaz wants to get out of the UFC promotion for quite some time now. He is not satisfied with the way they treat him, and even less from the payment he receives. He is vocal about his dissatisfaction and finally he will get what he seeks – his freedom.

However, he can exit under one condition. He needs to go through Khamzat Chimaev on the 10th of September. Khamzat is the toughest opponent that Dana White could have chosen for his ‘exit’ fight. But, Nate has fought tough opponents all his life. Maybe he will be able to get out with style.
When he eventually walks away from the UFC and when he is finally free, Peter Murray pledged to approach him and induct him into the PFL.
“What I can tell you is we’re in all the conversations when fighters go into free agency. Now we’re a global brand and the people trust us. Earlier days when we first started out, it was challenging.” – Peter Murray, the CEO of PFL says for MMA Hour. “It’s OK, you’ve got to build trust, you’ve got to prove yourself, you’ve got to execute.”
“And we have proven that we have a model that works and we’re built for a long time. And now it’s an alternative for fighters not only on the come up but fighters ranked in the top, the top five, the top three, and No1.”
Peter Murray continues to explain how his promotion is planning on expanding and employing top world fighters. “We’re here to stay, we’re here to play and compete. And not only are we going to develop our own talent through our system, we’ll certainly continue to sign major fighters.”
In the Professional Fighters League the fighters usually have two bouts per season. They earn their point depending on the way they finish their opponents. There are weight divisions same as in the UFC and the difference is that they have semis and finals format, which the fighters need to pass through in order to enter the pool eligible for winning the $1 million.
Peter Murray says that his interest in ‘employing’ Diaz is immense and that he is willing to pay even more to convince him to join.
“We have capital, we have wherewithal. And we’re not a regional player, we’re a global player. And now we’re investing in the future.”
