Prince Charles would reportedly play a trick on Princess Diana to convince her that he was home when in reality he was seeing Duchess Camilla instead.
Cheater Charles Would Trick Diana Into Thinking He Was Home Before Sneaking Off To See Camilla-‘Everybody Still Believed It Was The Perfect Marriage,’ Says Royal Expert Andrew Morton
That is according to royal expert Andrew Morton. It is no secret that Charles’ reputation was significantly damaged following allegations of the affair with Camilla.
And since he is next in line to the throne, that has damaged the public opinion towards him. It is claimed that Charles would trick Diana into thinking he was busy with other matters before popping out to see Camilla.
In his comments, Andrew said: “Charles would circle a TV programme with his pen in the Radio Times for the evening to make her think he was at home, when actually a Ford Escort estate car had driven him 12 miles to meet Camilla Parker Bowles.”
Those comments highlighted the difference between perception and reality. Andrew expanded on how the marriage appeared very happy on the surface.
They did after all have two children, while Diana became one of the most popular members of the Royal Family. And yet, beneath the surface it was anything but that.
It was also alleged that Charles had informed Diana he did not want to marry her on the night of the wedding. And of all this pointed towards an unhappy marriage.
Andrew’s following comments confirmed as much: “At the time, everybody still believed it was the perfect marriage – the handsome prince and his beautiful young bride.
“But nothing could have been further from the truth.” The fans on social media were outraged by Charles’ conduct during his time in the marriage with Diana.
And in the process of doing so, they began to make rather derogatory remarks towards him. One person wrote: “Disgraceful & sneaking money about the world what’s next.”
Once again, this shows that Charles has a long way to go before he is fully accepted by the public. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
