Like most famous people who rose to fame without having anything creative to offer to the world, Kim Kardashian launched a business in the fashion and makeup sphere. Using her popularity and appearance she boosts the sales of her products and marks a very high profit.
One of these companies is Kim’s underwear brand – Skims. This is now a brand that many people, including celebrities, wear. But, one of their products created such controversy on the internet, that people now are double-questioning what they bought and how safe is it.
A Fan Sues Kim Kardashian For Selling A Dangerous And Unsafe Product
Some time ago, Kim’s company Skims introduced ‘self-adhesive strips’ for breast enhancement. The strips attach to the side of women’s breasts and help with enhancing the figure of the breasts. The product has marked an incredible success until now, being sold in thousands of pieces. However, the claims from one user of the product create hesitation in people planning to buy it.
Allegedly, the product user in question had a negative experience with the product and even had to go to the doctor. Noelle Smith is a woman who claims that she bought the strips and was happy to use them. However, it is when she decided to take them off that she felt major discomfort and ‘skin damage’ to the area – so intense in fact, that she was hospitalized.
This is when the enraged fan decided to sue Kim for the damages that she inflicted on her with her product. She asks for damages, plus “expenses included for medical care”.
“Responsible and sensible companies should design adhesive strips that don’t rip off their customers’ skin.” – Noelle told The Blast.
According to the dissatisfied user, the product has ‘a bad design’ and the materials used for creating it are not of high quality. According to her, the product is ‘dangerous and unsafe’ for use.
Skims decided to acknowledge the claim and inspect the matter on their own. Upon making an investigation and tracing the controversial product, the company made a surprising and relieving discovery. The product was fake.
“After conducting a thorough investigation of this complaint, we have discovered that the customer purchased a fake strip from Amazon. A company that is not an official marketer of Skims products.” – Representatives from the company informed TMZ.
Since this is most probably not the only case, Skims representatives warn potential buyers of any of their products. The drill is to double-check the source from where they are buying their products before making the purchase.
“Only buy the brand’s products through the direct sales service or official partners”. – the warning reads.
