Tomohiro Ishii & Eddie Kingston Leave It All In The Ring
Back at Windy City Riot, Tomohiro Ishii & Eddie Kingston put on an instant classic when Strong Style met King’s Road style. Ishii got the win on that night, but Kingston learned a lot in defeat. Tonight, as part of All Out: Zero Hour – we get the rematch, as Ishii returns to AEW after being unable to be part of Forbidden Door. Kingston walked that Kings Road a bit further, wrestling the likes of Chris Jericho, Konosuke Takeshita & even NOAH legend Naomichi Marufuji. Tonight, he will not go quietly into the night – he will rage against the dying of the light.
These two bulls would lock horns to start this match, but it was a complete stalemate. Neither man would budge, and the strikes started flowing early – with them trading chops in the middle of the ring. Kingston went chop for chop with Ishii, with both chests getting red after each shot.
The crowd would cheer them on with the exchange moving past the minute mark – showing this was exactly what they wanted from this match. Kingston would finally drop Ishii using both hands and all his weight, but Ishii did not stay down. Ishii would accept the chops in the corner – and responded with the Tenryu style chops and elbows in the corner.
Kingston would be levelled with a heavy forearm shot, but it was not a KO blow like some assumed. Backdrop driver would be blocked, before Ishii hit a vertical suplex. Kingston would come back with a butterfly suplex and a DDT, before a sliding elbow smash.
Eddie Kingston Claims The Hard Fought Victory
Ishii & Kingston would keep the strikes coming in the middle of the ring, with Ishii just looking pissed off at this point. Kingston threw him into the corner, and Ishii exploded back out with a shoulder tackle. Backdrop driver would land, planting Kingston high on his shoulders.
They’d trade open palm strikes in the middle of the ring, and once again the crowd went absolutely wild for the exchange of strikes. Kingston would land hard on his shoulder after a clash in the ring – but hit an Exploder Suplex. Ishii responded with a German Suplex, before Kingston would take a backdrop driver. Rolling to his feet, Ishii hit a lariat – and caused a double down.
Kingston would hit the falling lariat and a powerbomb, but was only able to get a two count. Half & Half Suplex saw Ishii roll to his feet, and right into a lariat. Again, Ishii would kick out – and blocked the Uraken – but missed the sliding lariat. Kingston would hit the Uraken on the second go, before a third and Northern Lights Bomb for the finish.
