The wrestling world is still buzzing about the massive brawl that took place in the locker room of CM Punk on Sunday evening following AEW All Out. Many took it as a sign that Tony Khan had lost control of his locker room – and there would have been consequences for the actions of those involved. We know what has happened to most of the men involved.
The Elite Suspended, CM Punk’s Punishment Yet To Be Named
Recently, we would see Eddie Kingston take a two week suspension for ‘pie facing’ Sammy Guevara backstage, which set a precedent for actions like this. This would remain true in this situation, with Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Brandon Cutler, and Micheal Nakazawa all suspended. Ace Steel has also been taken off the road, and potentially fired – having thrown a chair at the eye of Matt Jackson and bit Kenny Omega.
However, there is still no word on what will become of the new AEW World Champion – and the man who caused this brawl with his media scrum tirade with CM Punk. Punk had met with Tony Khan to discuss the situation, and it’s highly likely he will either be suspended, fired, and with either option – stripped of the AEW World Championship.
Money Could Be Left On The Table By This Hot Angle
With this being the hottest angle AEW has had in years, Khan is very likely going to try and get everyone involved to work together on TV. There’s too much money to be left on the table by not acting on this issue. It simply requires a few massive egos to work together, and they would all profit from it.
This angle would not only benefit those working in it, but the company as a whole. Days later, and this is still all people want to speak about in regards to professional wrestling. It has taken any chatter about four WWE shows away, with everyone focused on AEW. Simply put – if this is brought to TV, it could be what brings AEW to the next level.
Right now, those involved will have to sit to the side and consider the options. Do you think Khan can get cooler heads to prevail? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
