Depending on whether or not CM Punk’s shoot style rant was a work or not will go a long way to determining AEW’s future as the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega reportedly threatened to walk out after Punk’s comments about the EVPs.
In the All Out Media Scrum, Punk went up and down the Elite and MJF.
Punk’s taken heat by fans for his former friend Colt Cabana nearly being released, and he seems to have taken issue with the Young Bucks for interceding on Cabana’s behalf and being signed to ROH instead.
AEW’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks Threaten To Walk Out After CM Punk’s Tirade
Special thanks to Wrestletalk.com for the transcription. “Because if you’re an EVP, you don’t try and middle your top babyface, try to get your niche audience on the internet to hate him for something, made up bulls**t rumor. It really pisses me off. Stepping on your own dick trying to f**king make money, sell tickets, fill arenas and these stupid guys think they’re in Reseda.”
According to Fightful Select, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega were pissed off at Punk’s comments and threatened to leave the company.
A couple of talent were told that some very important names were pissed off and threatening to walk out over this.
Obviously at this stage, we have to be cognizant of a possible work. https://t.co/VkVled1jmM

They were scheduled to take part in the media scrum, but they didn’t appear. There has been a reported scrum backstage that Dave Meltzer and Brian Alvarez confirmed.
Is Punk a cancer or speaking the truth?
It’s been reported that Punk’s comments and the ensuing confrontation weren’t work, and that means there’s plenty more to come on this.
What’s interesting was Tony Kahn nodding along when Punk was ripping into Hangman Adam Page with a couple of shocked looks here and there.
Then when Punk interrupted him a couple of times and Tony looked annoyed, but switched to happy or placated mode when Punk was defending him only added to the possibility of storylines that could come out of this.
With so many different ways to take this, we’re looking forward to seeing how it all plays out. If it’s work, does this mean Tony and Punk and joining forces? If it’s a shoot, is Punk being a leader of channeling the negative side of Shawn Michaels and Bitter Bret Hart?
Either one will get more eyes on the company and product, and at this point it’s impossible to tell, and Punk is starting to remind us of Terrell Owens with his comments so it’ll only make things more interesting.
