Since they walked out to reportedly protest the mishandling of the women’s division, singles and tag, fans have been waiting for news of where Sasha Banks and Naomi are going, if they’ll come back, and so on.
It’s the same whenever a big name leaves a company, and more so when it’s a tandem and one of the most popular women’s tag teams around.
Are Sasha Banks and Naomi Ready for a WWE Return?
Such has been the story surrounding Banks and Naomi since they left, and there are plenty or rumors out there saying they resigned or are on the verge of it. Some even claim they were backstage at last week’s Smackdown (8/26).
My personal thought is they’ll challenge Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah for the tag titles either during Clash at the Castle or shortly afterwards.
Could they go elsewhere?
It’s always possible that Banks and Naomi could go elsewhere, but it’s hard to for us to imagine that and never seeing them face off with some of the wrestlers we’ve grown comfortable seeing them work with.
One of those is Charlotte Flair. She’s been out of the WWE for a minute as she married Andrade and been enjoying a well deserved break.
Flair appeared on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions where Austin asked her about her thoughts on Banks and Naomi walking out.
“One, I haven’t been there, because I left after (WrestleMania) Backlash. I know what it’s like to jump on social media and read these headlines that are so far from the truth. I don’t know what happened. What I can say is, I can’t imagine never wrestling Sasha again. That would be hard for me to compartmentalize. We started together. She’s my Ricky Steamboat, my dad always tells her that. With Trin [Naomi], we just had a hell of a match on SmackDown and I’m like, ‘Oh, there is unfinished business there’ because of circumstances and storylines and whatever, we just, ‘here, you two wrestle.’ For me, I just can’t imagine not working with them. In terms of what they’re going through, it’s not my place to speak on behalf of the company or them because I’m not there right now.”
If Banks and Naomi are coming back, it’ll be great to see some of the old rivalries start again. Still, we never say never and if the rumors are true we could see them back in action before too long.
