Nate Diaz said his goodbyes with the UFC as soon as the UFC 279 event was over. Past weekend’s fight against Tony Ferguson was the last fight for the younger Diaz brother with the promotion. At the end of the bout, Diaz gave an emotional speech addressing his fans and pointing out that ‘he’ll be back’ after ‘taking over some other sport’.
While some people are already talking about a possible boxing career that Nate Diaz might start off, others tease with another door that is opening for Diaz – Bare Knuckle Fighting.
BKFC Intensifying Pressure On Nate Diaz To Sign Up With Them For Arranging A Fight Against Mike Perry
If there could be one sport that is more extreme and more exciting than UFC, then that would be Bare Knuckle Fighting. From BKFC they do not hide their intentions with Nate Diaz. BFKFC’s president David Feldman spoke on his show and revealed that there might be a potential Nate Diaz fight ‘cooking’.
“I can’t tell you whether he’s coming or not, but I can tell you that we want him here at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. And we’re gonna do everything that we can do to get him here at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.” – The BKFC President David Feldman said.
“Nate Diaz is absolutely on the radar. He’s not just on the radar, we’re aggressively gonna make a move for him right now. I know he has something else that he’s working on right now, but I have a feeling after having a talk with the partners and the guys at Triller that we’re gonna be able to make a really viable attempt. We’re going for this, absolutely. We have to respect the UFC’s window that they have to re-sign him and everything. But we’re going for him. A hundred percent, we’re going for Nate Diaz.”
David Feldman has already thought about who might be a possible opponent for Diaz if such an event is to happen. According to him, BKFC fans would be very interested in seeing Nate Diaz vs Mike Perry fight.
Mike Perry is an ex MMA fighter that did not show some exceptional results while in the UFC promotion. However, left an image of someone who is ruthless and similar personality-wise to Nate Diaz.
“I think that the fans would absolutely love to see both of the same personalities, just guys that keep fighting… Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry would be a fan’s dream fight. I think the fans would love to see that. I would pay to see that fight, easily. That would be an amazing fight. If we could do something like that, that would be great.” – Feldman said.
Since Mike Perry made his debut in the BKFC back in February this year, he won two fights.
“Now is my time to make noise. I have no excuses so I’m calling out all the best fights the fans can be interested in. I want to make waves. Been fighting my whole life and I always will. No matter what.” – Mike Perry wrote on his Twitter after hearing about BKFC’s President idea.
