In a complete 180 from his time in AEW, Cody Rhodes is WWE is perhaps the biggest babyface in the company right now. Since his triumphant return back at WrestleMania – Rhodes has won three matches against Seth Rollins, including a Hell in a Cell match. That match was particularly interesting due to Rhodes wrestling the match with a torn pectoral muscle. Since then, he’s undergone surgery, and can’t wait to get back into the ring.
Cody Rhodes Was Not Given A Return Timeline After Surgery
While speaking with TMZ, Rhodes would be asked about his return timeline. He’d respond with the following – echoing old sentiments, that his doctors won’t give him one due to his Hell in a Cell performance. Rhodes was quoted saying the following.
”They haven’t really given me one because they know I’m stupid and I’d try to test it. I have in my mind where I want to be and I think a lot of fans have in their mind where I’d like to be. That’s hopefully where it’s at. What happens next, hopefully, and what we do, this is all speculative and up in the air, hopefully it’s a run people will remember and I have to be healthy for it.”
There is a hope that he will return at the Royal Rumble – winning the match, and going on to face Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Many feel Rhodes is the perfect choice to dethrone Reigns, as that win would properly cement him as a top babyface.
Calls WWE Return The Best Three Months Of His Life
Cody Rhodes would also be asked how he’s felt about his WWE return. He’d be quoted saying the following.
“No complaints. They’ve treated me like the house that built me, which they were. Honestly, it’s amazing. We were back, everything was rolling so fast and then I tore my pec. It was like the best three months of my life. Hopefully, we can get back to that soon.”
