Over the past decade of WWE, few have captured the attention of fans quite like Finn Balor has. Coming into the company with some hype after being the man to create the BULLET CLUB faction in NJPW, Balor has consistently proven to be one of the best in WWE. Many championships have followed, with Balor holding the NXT Championship twice, and WWE Universal Championship once – as his biggest accolades. Currently, he leads the Judgement Day faction – and is loving the chance to be a heel on a big stage.
Finn Balor Had A Lot To Prove After Being Snubbed On Major Shows Like WrestleMania
During a recent interview with Gorilla Position – Balor would be asked how it felt during his recent babyface run. He left NXT for the second time, and was put back into a directionless state, and Balor himself knew he was spinning his wheels. He’d be quoted saying the following – and explained how being snubbed from big shows really has him motivated.
“Yeah, of course. I’m a professional and I wanna wrestle. I feel like I’m one of the top performers in the business consistently over years and years and years, so I feel like I deserve to be on those shows. Especially my output with regards to live events and non-televised events, I’ll be on every show, so to be left off or snubbed off the biggest show of the year, especially when it’s two nights, yeah, that hurt.
I feel like, I’m sure it was to do with how I was performing and maybe I was a little monotonous, going through the motions with that kind of babyface version of Finn, but I feel reinvigorated recently, being able to do a true heel character, which I feel like I do much better than I do babyface and it’s something that I haven’t properly done in WWE either. We tried to do it in NXT, but when we lost the audience due to COVID, we had to kind of tweak the character and make it more of a tweener, but I’m enjoying being a true heel.
I don’t really have to act. I’m just a pissed-off version of myself that I normally am. Hungry Finn, but yeah, I’m enjoying it. I feel reinvigorated. I can wrestle a different style now in the ring, and I’m doing different. I feel refreshed so I’m glad to be doing this version.”
Recently, Judgement Day would grow. Following a loss to Edge & Rey Mysterio at Clash At The Castle, Judgement Day would be happy to see Dominik Mysterio turn on his father. Now aligned with Rhea Ripley, and therefore Judgement Day – Balor has even more power on Monday Night RAW. This group is set to keep on growing, and might truly become the closest thing WWE has ever seen to it’s own version of BULLET CLUB.
Balor has even discussed the chance of adding Doc Gallows & Karl Anderson to the group. He’d have the following to say about their chances of returning to WWE.
“Listen, I’m sure the opportunity for those guys to return to WWE will happen. They have all the talent in the world. They’ve proven themselves all over the world, in every promotion, at every level, and they can do it. So I’m sure once the time is right, they’ll be back,”
