Marshall Inu is a cryptocurrency that Joe Rogan started as a joke months ago. Seems like even Joe was not planning for it to get as big as it gets. It was initiated with the purpose to help fighters pay in the UFC, but now, since it gained a lot of traction, it is completely taking over. After Nate Diaz announced that he starts his own promotion, now Marshall doesn’t stay back long as the Marshall Fighting Championship is being started.
The Marshall Inu Cryptocurrency is already a key player in advancing fighter pay. It sponsors many sounding names in the UFC. Kamaru Usman, Aljamain Sterling, Alex Volkanovski, Gilbert Burns, Rose Namajunas, Bobby Green, Bas Rutten, Chael Sonnen, Colby Covington, Jorge Masvidal, Bryce Mitchell, Paolo Costa, Dereck Brunson, and Kevin Gastelum are just some of the names that are being sponsored by Joe Rogan’s cryptocurrency.
Following Nate Diaz, Joe Rogan’s Golden Retriever Marshal Starts His Own MMA promotion, Marshall Fighting Championship
If you’ve taken this as a joke the following fact will surely change your mind. The Marshal Inu crypto has raised more than $5 million and distributed them to the fighters to help them pay for training, bills, and everyday expenses. However, while still sponsoring the fighters, Joe Rogan’s dog ‘decided’ to try itself in promoting fights as well. Thus, it founded the Marshall Fighting Championship.
The promotion will have a little bit of an unconventional way of paying its fighters. All of the fighters appearing on the fight cards will receive payment solely in Marshall Inu crypto.
“We are creating an ecosystem for Combat sports using our native token. Crypto is not going anywhere and we want to make sure combat athletes are ahead of the wave when it comes to innovation and technology. I don’t think the day is very far where athletes will receive entire payment via cryptocurrencies. We just saw that Starbucks has recently stopped accepting cash in their stores.” – Dave Leduc, the President of the newly formed MFC said.
The Marshall Fighting Championship officially signed three fighters to its list. The most experienced fighter in the promotion until now is the USA native Cole Ferrell who has an astonishing professional record of 10-1.
Dave Leduc, the president of the promotion is a former Lethwei, also known as Burmese boxing Champion. He managed to take two fighters from Burmese boxing. Michal Kosic from Slovakia is one of them. He comes to the promotion with a professional Burmese boxing record of no losses.
Dan Lariviere is also joining in the Marshal Inu promotion. A fighter that is undefeated as well and has some advanced experience in Muay Thai.
“Kosik from Slovakia and Lariviere from Canada are the most active and dominant Lethwei fighters at their weight right now. When I planned the launch of MFC I wanted to hold a world title fight as soon as possible. After discussion with the World Lethwei Federation and President Andi Egeberg, they approved the fight between Kosik and Lariviere. We are very happy and honored to hold the first Lethwei World Title fight under the WLF supervision. Kosik is a quick and relentless fighter and Lariviere is a crafty and aggressive athlete. Both men will give the fans watching the event around the world a memorable show. I expect this fight to be the Fight of the night.” – Leduc told at a press conference.
The first event of the promotion will happen in Brezno, Slovakia. The promotion expects the event to be of high importance for the MMA sport in the region. The WLF president Egeberg and the Polish Lethwei Federation president Maciek Skupinksi will attend it.
