We’re just a few hours away from the biggest AEW PPV of the year, with All Out. With 15 matches booked – there’s going to be something for everyone on this show, but it’s not going to be a short show. Many have issues with this, namely AEW commentator Jim Ross – who also has some issues with how AEW set up tonight’s main event.
Jim Ross Isn’t A Fan Of AEW’s Long PPV Events
During a big live podcast to raise money for Steve “Mongo” McMichael’s battle with ALS, Jim Ross would join Conrad Thompson, Jeff Jarrett, Eric Bischoff, Tony Shiavone & Mick Foley – and the topic of All Out came up. When Ross was asked about the card – he’d have some issues with the length of the show, and how the main event was set up. Ross would be quoted saying the following.
“Well, I think it’s gonna be unpredictable because I don’t know how you book this card. I don’t know how you have a match on Wednesday and your champion gets his ass whipped like a government mule and then you expect to return it Sunday. Why do I need a return? You just got your ass whipped. So there’s logical things we have to address, quite frankly.
I think it’s gonna be a challenging show for Tony Khan to book but it’s loaded. Sitting out there with our group as it is, this is gonna be a 5-hour show. I’m not in favor of any 5-hour show. It’s just too long. Our attention spans are not going to maintain what it needs to be. It’s a chance for a lot talents to clear the deck and make a name for themselves.”
Despite this, Ross would hype up Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Jericho as potentially being the match of the year – and was overall excited for this event. The main event is set to be CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley, which fans saw two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite – with Moxley winning in three minutes. Heated promos on the go-home show have won some fans over – but some remain on the fence.
