Rapper Kanye West recently posted a photoshopped photo of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on September 8, 2022. He did this as a tribute to the Queen, but is it really a tribute? Kanye said that the Queen’s death reminded him of how fragile life can be.
Kanye West Says No More Grudges After The Queen’s Death
The father of four took to Instagram to pay a tribute to the late monarch after her death was announced. The rapper talked about how the Queen’s death changed him as a person and even encouraged him to drop his grudges. Kanye wrote, “Life is precious. Releasing all grudges today. Leaning into the light.” Style Caster reported that his post had two headshots of the Queen wearing her crown during her reign.
Kanye West Pays Weird Tribute To Queen Elizabeth II
Paying her another tribute, Kanye posted a picture of the Queen wearing his signature Yeezy sunglasses. He superimposed the Queen’s picture with huge, silver shades (that are yet to be out) from his Yeezy x Gap collaboration collection.
This alien-like sun shade has been promoted in the past by the mother of his Kids, Kim K and their daughter, North West in the past. Kanye also shared several photos of people rocking his Yeezy sunglasses after attending the NY Fashion Week, including Vogue editor, Anna Wintour and actor Chris Rock.
Fans quickly stormed Twitter to share their thoughts about Kanye West’s post. One wrote, “Nah @kanyewest you a wild man for photoshopping the YZY glasses on the Queen.” Someone else added, “Did Kanye seriously shade the queen like that on his Instagram?? The disrespect.”
Another person, “What’s everyone’s favorite tribute to the Queen so far? Gotta be Kanye’s YZY glasses edit on Instagram or Ray Parlour’s Cobra bomb for me.” “Sometimes I look at Twitter the second I wake up and later wonder if I was dreaming or not, did Kanye post on IG the queen photoshopped with YZY glasses or was I still between realms,” someone also wrote.
Some fans of the rapper know that this is not the first time he has posted the picture to his Instagram story. When the Queen’s death was announced, he immediately shared the photo to his IG page, but later removed it after fans blasted him.
