It’s looking like WWE signing olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson might well be a bust. The promising wrestler was signed in 2021, and drafted to the Monday Night RAW roster – but has never shown up on WWE programming. Reports of his training not going well would come out, but no official statements have come from WWE on the topic. However, there’s always a chance things turn around – and Kurt Angle might be willing to help.
Kurt Angle Isn’t Against Managing Gable Steveson, Unsure If He’s Got The Needed Skills Yet
In an interview with “The Wrassingh Show, Kurt Angle would be asked about if he would consider managing Gable Steveson in WWE.
“I would consider it. I’d have to think about it and see what they wanted me to do. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have me manage Gable Steveson. But I just have to see how he pans out.
I don’t know how he’s picking up on the techniques. I don’t know how he’s doing with his promo skills and backstage vignettes. You know you gotta have a lot of charisma to be in the company, especially if you wanna be successful.
In pro-wrestling you have to tell a story,” Angle said. “Not only that, you have to show emotion. In amateur wrestling, you don’t show any emotion. So in pro wrestling, you have to show that you’re excited, scared, angry, mad. That’s part of the business, and that’s part of why the fans get heavily involved with you is from your emotions. So I don’t know if Gable has that yet.”
Joining His Brother In NXT?
Despite initially being drafted to Monday Night RAW, there is a chance that Gable Steveson will make his way onto the NXT 2.0 roster. Right now, his brother Bobby Steveson. is working down there under the name of Damon Kemp – and recently betrayed Diamond Mine. He’s entering a feud with former NXT Tag Team Champions “The Creed Brothers”, without someone to back him up.
The stage is set for Gable Steveson to hit the ring alongside his brother, and given the legit backgrounds of the four men that could be in this feud – it could bring some incredible mat wrestling.
