Meghan Markle’s hopes of having a career in politics have been slammed by Nancy Pelosi.

Meghan has already indicated her passion for politics due to the interventions she has made in the US. She did happen to write a letter to Nancy advocating paid parental leave.
While that may have been the case, she did receive criticism on the basis she was interfering in US politics via her royal title.
But that did not stop her addressing further issues with a statement following the overruling of Roe v Wade. And yet, for all the enthusiasm coming out from the Duchess of Sussex, it seems Nancy is not on board.
One journalist had allegedly stated the following when they approached Nancy to comment on Meghan’s letter: “We rang Nancy Pelosi’s office to see if they wanted to respond and they just laughed.
“She’s not being taken seriously by Washington at all. She’s not Michelle Obama – she doesn’t have that pedigree so where does she fit in?”

Those words do hold some weight for the following reasons. First of all, Meghan is ultimately living in a $14 million mansion which makes it extremely difficult for her to come across as relatable.
Secondly, since she has been generating backlash for her interview with ‘The Cut,’ it has made it harder for others to associate with her, as they could also get backlash by way of extension.
But perhaps Meghan’s ‘Archetypes’ podcast on Spotify could be used to counter that. Reports indicate that she is considering getting Hillary Clinton, as well Jill Biden to appear on her show.
And that perhaps would go some way to increase her political brand. The fans on social media were equally hostile to the prospect of Markle entering politics.
And in the process of doing so, they made their positions clear. One person wrote: “We don’t want her in the political Arena at all ever.”
