Piers Morgan has called on King Charles III to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their royal titles.
Piers Morgan DEMANDS That King Charles III Strip Harry And Meghan Of Their Titles-‘Take Them Away’
The couple currently hold the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles but have come under heavy criticism in light of their conduct post their royal exit.
Their controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey coincided with the deterioration of the late Prince Philip’s health. Meanwhile, Meghan’s bombshell revelations with ‘The Cut’ coincided on the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
This in turn was exacerbated as Queen Elizabeth II died shortly after too. With that being said, Piers has called on Charles to remove the titles, which would allow the couple to speak out without there being any association with the Royal Family.
In his comments, he said: “There’s the most gigantic rift now at the very heart of our new monarch. If I were him, I would go further. I would strip Meghan and Harry of all their titles, period, done. Take them away.”
Nevertheless, this is not going to be as easy as first thought. First of all, if the aim is to reconcile with everyone, then the removal of the titles could be counter to that.
After all, it may give Harry and Meghan more reasons to speak out on the basis that they may have been treated unfairly.
This is particularly true since other scandals such as Prince Andrew’s sexual assault allegations concerning Virginia Giuffre were more damning.
Secondly, it is claimed that an act of Parliament would be required to make this happen. It is not something that King Charles could do himself.
But given that Piers does not see relations between the family getting any better, which was signified as Harry arrived and left Balmoral alone, things are looking bleak.
His following comments confirmed as much: “I’m seeing no sign other than it got a lot worse. Harry went up to Balmoral on his own.”
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
