Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had a lack of affection at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
Harry And Meghan Had A ‘Lack Of Affection’ During Queen Elizabeth II’s Funeral-Says Body Language Expert Katia Loisal
That is according to body language expert Katia Loisal. This should not come as a surprise, especially since they were at a place that was very distressing. Harry ultimately lost his grandmother who he failed to see prior to her passing at Balmoral.
While that may have been the case, the reasoning for the lack of affection at the funeral could have been down to the initial backlash they had received.
During the Windsor reunion with Prince William and Kate Middleton, critics noticed the fact that they were holding hands at a time where people felt it was not the appropriate thing to do.
In addition, they were also under scrutiny during the Queen’s coffin procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall. Once again, they were seen holding hands there.
With that being said, their hand-off approach could have been due to the initial backlash. In her comments, Katia said: “It was interesting to note the lack of affection and mutual touch between Prince Harry and Meghan.
“Whilst most in the procession walked with arms by their side, a sombre Meghan kept her head bowed, eyes downcast and hands clasped in front, in a self-protective gesture indicating a level of discomfort or uncertainty.”
Irrespective of the motivation behind this, it was clearly a very difficult period for everyone involved. And it was summed up when Meghan appeared to have tears down her face, despite being known for keeping her cool in high-pressure situations by virtue of being an actress.
The fans on social media were not happy with Katia’s comments. This was on the basis that the couple appeared to be called out regardless of how they behaved in public.
One person wrote: “My god, they can’t win with you people! They hold hands they get crucified they don’t they are crucified.”
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
