Camilla’s new-found role arrives on the back end of Queen Elizabeth’s death at the age of 96. This has now thrust Camilla right at the top towards the monarchy, with her husband King Charles III as the leader of the firm.
But given that there are allegedly tensions between Harry and Camilla, this has made things rather awkward. It is no secret that her affair with Charles, while he was still married to the late Princess Diana, did tarnish relations between her and Harry.
So much so that reports indicated Harry could be very vocal about his feelings towards Camilla in his upcoming tell-all memoir.
But with doubts about whether he will pursue the memoir, with his grandmother having just passed, coupled with the fact that he does not have good relations with Camilla, it has left him in a hard position.
A source confirmed the following: “The personal impact is likely the protocol changes that roll into action almost immediately. The family will now have to bow or curtsy to King Charles and Queen [Consort] Camilla.”
Despite the tensions between Harry and Camilla, his father Charles has made his feelings towards his son and Meghan Markle very clear. In his first official speech as King, Charles expanded on how he wanted to see Harry and Meghan do well.
This was a big moment, especially since Harry and his father were not on good terms with reports that the couple turned down the opportunity to see him at Balmoral prior to the late monarch’s death.
In his comments, King Charles remarked: “I want also to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas.”
