Prince Harry has been slammed over his tribute speech in honour of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Harry SLAMMED Over His Statement In Honour Of Queen Elizabeth II-‘Too Little Too Late’
The Duke of Sussex has not helped himself in light of the background events that occurred prior to the late monarch’s passing. His controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, which coincided with the deterioration of the late Prince Philip’s health did not help matters.
Not only that, but Meghan Markle’s bombshell interview with ‘The Cut’ was shortly before his grandmother’s passing. And given that the couple had allegedly turned down the opportunity to go to Balmoral, coupled with the fact that Harry had apparently arrived there after she had passed, his statement has been called into question.
And yet, it was the least he could have been expected to do, since she was his grandmother. In his statement, Harry said: “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren.”
Nevertheless, there is a feeling that those comments can only come across as genuine if Harry manages to reconcile with his family.
The fact that the Sussexes managed to walk with Prince William and Kate Middleton in order to pay their respects for the late monarch at Windsor was a positive sign.
However, the reaction from the fans on social media towards Harry’s statement was mixed. A certain subset of people felt that his words were very fitting. Meanwhile, others were of the view that his actions did not corroborate his words.
One person wrote: “Sadly too little too late. He allowed his grandparents to be attacked as they were dying. Shame!”
The only way to repair things would be to have a full reconciliation. Time will tell if that happens. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
