Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96 Buckingham Palace has officially confirmed.
Queen Elizabeth II Dies Aged 96 As Meghan Markle Was Reportedly Absent During Her Final Stages
Fears over the monarch’s health grew with sudden reports that her health had deteriorated as Royal members rushed to her aid.
Prince Harry was reportedly on his way to Balmoral, but his wife Meghan Markle was allegedly absent, choosing to stay in London instead.
The Queen leaves behind the legacy of being the longest monarch in British history and the world’s longest Head of State. And yet, the Royal Family could not be more divided.
The relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royals have been at an all-time low, which have not been helped by Meghan’s recent revelations in her Spotify podcast ‘Archetypes’ and her bombshell interview with ‘The Cut.’
And with Prince Charles next in line to the throne, he will have the mammoth task of uniting the family together at a time where the country will be in mourning.
In an official statement given by the Palace, a representative said the following: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The exact cause of death has not been confirmed which is understandable due to the mourning that the family will be going through. And this has equally been reflected on social media where the public have come out to express their sadness.
One person wrote: “The world will never be the same again. She was not just our monarch, but the world’s Queen. When we think of what a Queen should be, we think of her.
“She was such a strong character and a true role model for us all. Rest in peace your majesty. We will never forget you.” The monarch may no longer be here, but she has left behind many memories.
