We’re just a few days away from one of the biggest episodes of AEW Dynamite of the year, as they return to Arthur Ashe Stadium. It’s AEW Grand Slam, and between Dynamite & Rampage – there is four hours of wrestling planned. One match that was announced last night is Eddie Kingston vs. Sammy Guevara – which was originally planned for All Out. However, this match could be the last we see of Guevara in AEW.
Sammy Guevara Shows Signs Of Leaving AEW Soon>?
Late last night following the end of AEW Rampage, fans would notice some odd activity from the Twitter account of Sammy Guevara. He blacked out the cover photo and profile picture. Any mention of AEW in his bio was deleted. The name on the account was changed to “Samuel Guevara”. The latest tweet was Jim Carrey taking a bow at the end of The Truman Show. All signs pointing to the exit of Guevara from AEW.
Considering there was reports of few wanting to work with Guevara in the company when we heard about the backstage fight with Kingston months ago, that could have been a sign of things to come. Guevara is an AEW original, having wrestled the first match in company history alongside Kip Sabian – and opened the first episode of AEW Dynamite against Cody Rhodes.
The First Of The Four Pillars Of AEW To Leave The Company
His exit would leave a hole in the AEW roster, but with the vast roster Tony Khan has assembled – someone would step up and fill it. This would be the first of the ‘Four Pillars’ to leave the company, leaving Darby Allin, Jungle Boy & MJF in AEW. Kip Sabian was often considered the ‘Forgotten Pillar’ meaning he could step up big and replace Guevara.
There are no reports of his match with Kingston being scrapped, making it likely that Kingston will defeat Guevara and send him packing from the company. It would be hard to not see WWE interest in Guevara – and under the leadership of Triple H, Guevara could become an even bigger name.
