Since the start of AEW back in 2019, fans have seen some of the best of the best in the world hit the ring. They have the best tag team division in the world, and a mens division that can rival even WWE’s best. However, one category that has not been in as good in terms of quality is their women’s division. Over the past few years, we’ve seen AEW make some great additions to the roster – including Toni Storm, who feels things are going in the right direction.
Toni Storm Feels AEW Has The Talent To Make A Great Division
Just ahead of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Toni Storm would speak with Scott Fishman of TV Insider. When asked to share her thoughts on the state of women’s wrestling within AEW, Storm would be quoted saying the following.
“It’s a story as old as time. Women’s wrestling struggles to get the same amount of time as the guys. We are put in a different position, but I really do believe we are headed in the right direction. We’ve got a locker room full of really hardworking and talented women that I believe are the future. It’s going to change the entire game. I think we’re going to overcome and get more time and see more emphasis on ourselves. But we’re doing the hard work. I’m very confident in this entire division. I’m proud to be at the top and will do whatever I can to push it where it needs to go. I’m proud of everyone back there. I’m choosing to be positive. I think, little by little, there will be more emphasis on us in AEW. We just need to keep breaking down that door. I also think consistency is what will get us there,”
At AEW Grand Slam, we would see the AEW debut of former WWE star Paige, going under the name Saraya – which was a massive get for AEW. She would make the save after Storm successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship – but ended up on the wrong end of a three way beatdown.
