The tension and fighting hasn’t been limited to the AEW backstage area as fans have continued trading barbs over their viewpoints.
This is part of what can make sports and entertainment great, but also frustrating as many can get personal. In this case, CM Punk’s criticism of The Young Bucks and the Elite has reportedly earned him plenty of heat backstage.
WWE fans SLAM AEW Stars ‘The Young Bucks’ For Having Thin Skin and Being Everything Wrong With the Current Generation
It’s also gotten fans going back and forth over how thin skinned both sides seem to be, but especially the Young Bucks.
Comments are gold
Fan chats have always been a fun thing to be a part of as it lets us discuss our favorite wrestlers, matches, and moments.
Of course, things don’t always go smoothly, but that’s what chat moderators are there for.
It’s grown from chat rooms to social media where anyone can jump in, and it’s led to some more trash talking back and forth and this one is no exception.
The first day of the AEW Scrum news saw more comments than we expected with fans calling the other wrestler soft and so on, but seeing WWE fans siding with Punk and mocking the Young Bucks for having thin skin and being what’s wrong with a generation proved interesting.
While it’s easy to say the Elite do have thin skin given how they were reportedly pissed at Punk’s comments, the fact Punk has let Page’s promo and the reporting of Punk going off script as a point of contention for Punk can be considered thin skin.
Elite fans picked up on this and returned the verbal barrage toward Punk as fans continue to pick sides in the latest drama that outdoes anything in the ring.
What has us the most curious is what kind of response will we be given? Nick Jackson was reportedly knocked out by Ace Steel when Steel threw a chair at him, so things escalated quickly from just being frustrated.
Is Punk trying to clean house on his terms?
It seems like it given how Punk outed the dirty laundry in a press conference despite his claim to meet him in the hallway to work it out, and then a fight happening when he was approached gives the argument credence.
As does Punk going after the wrestling media for sharing news and theories he calls lies while getting softball questions during the scrum.
Let’s not forget, he interrupted a reporter asking a question and brought Colt Cabana up himself and went on a rant that set the stage points to the issue still bugs him or it was done purposely for a work or to start a fight and remove those he doesn’t like.
It feels like it was done purposeful, whether to protect Punk, push a storyline, or it’s his attempt to get Tony Kahn on his side instead of the EVPS is another debate we’re sure to see fans continue having for weeks to come.
Do you think the criticism of having thin skin applies to one side or the other, or both? Let us know in the comments below.
