Back at Clash At The Castle, we saw the best match of Sheamus’s career – as he went toe to toe with GUNTHER over the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Considering a few years ago, there was worries that a back injury would retire him – fans are happy to see Sheamus on the best stretch of his career. We now know from Sheamus himself just how long he intends to keep on going for.
Sheamus Hopes To Get Another Eight Years In The Ring
While speaking with Inside The Ropes, Sheamus would have a chance to speak about how long he expects to remain in the ring. Spoilers: The Celtic Warrior isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He’d be quoted saying the following on continuing as long as possible.
“Well I hope so. There was a time there when I was a babyface when people were sick of looking at me back in 2012. The red headed ginger hair John Cena. They were calling me all this weird stuff. As long as people get excited to see the Celtic Warrior go out there, I’ll just keep going as long as possible. I feel like I have got at least another 8 years in me. I’m into this till the legs fall off.”
Potential Challenger For Roman Reigns Soon?
With Sheamus having been just putting on banger after banger, it’s only a matter of time before he gets back into the main event of WWE. While his focus lately has been on Imperium and claiming the only belt missing from his trophy case – WWE could revisit the feud between Sheamus & Roman Reigns soon.
Having Butch & Ridge Holland to help subdue The Bloodline would allow for a proper heavyweight clash between Sheamus & Reigns, and could give another five star match to Sheamus. There is also a chance for Sheamus to be a featured star at the start of NXT Europe -making the next brand of WWE more legitimate by having one of the most decorated wrestlers on the roster around.
