Many still consider The Attitude Era in WWE to be the companies peak in terms of tag team wrestling. You had a stacked division, and matches between the likes of The Hardy Boyz, Edge & Christian, The Dudleys and more going down in history as some of the best matches ever. In particular, the TLC matches remain iconic – and Angelo Dawkins wants to put his own spin on those matches alongside Montez Ford and two other top tag teams.
Angelo Dawkins Wants TLC Against Usos & New Day
During an interview with USA Networks “USA Insider”, Angelo Dawkins would be asked about his dream match. He’d respond with hopes for a winner takes all TLC match with The New Day & The Usos. Dawkins would be quoted saying the following.
“I gotta pick a stipulation too. Let’s go with TLC for all the marbles, us versus The New Day versus The Usos. That would be my dream match. I mean you’ve got The New Day and The Usos, they’ve been carrying the tag team division for years. We were in NXT for the majority of that time, but we were all watching each other. I remember The New Day watching us, even The Usos back when they were cool before they became The Bloodline. All three of us have been at the top now, taking the world by storm so all three of us, the best tag teams, settling who is the best out of them all.”
Right now, WWE has taken TLC out of the annual PPV rotation – but this match could still happen around the same time, as a potential headline match for WWE Day One. As Roman Reigns defends the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship less and less, other titles will get their chances to headline – and this match would be a perfect PPV main event. Fans would easily get excited about it, and could get fans excited about The Usos once again.
