She chuckled during a confessional,”I rented a car because if he and I get in a fight or something, I can leave. I don’t know this person, I really don’t know him. I think I do. But I do watch crime shows too,” she said with a laugh during a confessional. “I’m not stupid.”
She also said, “For all I know, Tony could be a psycho. I could end up in his basement, trapped. I don’t know what I’ve got myself into.” Debbie admitted that she was “nervous” and “eager” to see Tony’s place for the first time since she was thinking of moving out of her home and moving in with him. “The main thing I wanna find out on this trip is how we co-exist,” she stated. “It’s not going to work if I don’t feel at home in his house or if he doesn’t feel at home with me in his house.”
The sight of Tony’s abode, adorned with dragons and skulls, shocked Debbie. She said, “It’s not what I expected to see.” Debbie awoke the following morning following what she referred to as a “successful night” and offered the following explanation: “Coming into this house last night, I was a little creeped out. But in broad daylight, he’s not so bad. It’s a little less creepy. It just might take a little getting used to.”
Later, the couple went to dinner with two of Tony’s closest friends. During the meal, Debbie realized that it would be a big step for her to give up her own life and move in with Tony. “It doesn’t matter how badly I want to be with Tony; what matters is whether or not I can leave my life, my family, and my friends behind. I’m not sure whether I’m capable of doing that.”
She admitted as a confessional: “If I move here, I won’t have any friends or relatives close by.” Tony had said earlier in the show that he had only seen his mother “once in the past year” and that they had been apart for more than 20 years before their reconciliation. Debbie commented on her son, saying, “Unfortunately, it sounds exactly what’s happening to Colt and me.”
Debbie explained that she wants her relationship with Colt to be adult-like and respectful. “Colt tends to get on my case about things and be kind of rude or mean,” she said. “I want Colt to understand that I want a relationship that is an adult-like, respectful relationship.” “If I move to Canada with Tony, there is a possibility that I will never be able to mend my relationship with Colt, and the thought of that scares me, really scares me,” I said. “That scares me, really scares me.”
