The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship’s event Fight Night Omaha did not disappoint. It consisted of 11 bouts and 10 of them were finished by a KO or TKO.
All of the matches happen to be exciting and brutal. There is no lack of action in these BKFC bouts at any event. And we could see that from the beginning of the opening match of the evening, Emeka Ifekandu against Charlie DuBray.
Emeka Ifekandu Delivered Five Knockdowns To Charlie DuBray At The BKFC Fight Night Omaha 2
What was planned to be a 5-round war, didn’t last so long. Only two and a half rounds inside, and Charlie DuBray couldn’t take it anymore. He is on the floor for the final time.
Both fighters have very similar features. Both are almost the same height and weight, Emeka has a little bit longer reach, but for that, he pays with the smaller size of his fists. All in all a greatly matched opponents, able to display a top-notch performance.
The Nigerian based in Oklahoma Nebraska shows up for his debut in the BKFC after a 5-0-0 professional record as a pro-boxer, and after taking place in 12 pro-MMA fights. He comes ready and in a much better condition for the fight than his opponent.
This is the BKFC debut for Charles DuBray as well. He has some experience with pro-boxing before and has more than 30 pro-MMA fights behind his back. Having this experience in his pocket he presents a great target for the Nigerian.
This is not the first time these two meet. They’ve met in the octagon previously, back in December 2021 at the DCS 76 event, where Emeka took the win by a split decision. This would come as a re-match for the two, and as an opportunity to finish the bout from one year ago.
The fight starts a little bit passive. Most of the action that occurs in the beginning are just shots by Charlie heading to Ifekandu. Even though he has more strike attempts, his strikes are not precise enough, and Emeka takes advantage of it. At the last minute of the first round, he counters an attack and lands a powerful right hand that throws Charlie to the floor.
In the second round, the same story starts to repeat itself. Even though more aggressive, Charlie is not hitting anything with his hands. Emeka again takes advantage of this and brings Charlie to the ground with a body shot. This is the second knockdown. The bell saves Charlie in a matter of seconds.
The third round starts with a great counter by Emeka that sends Charlie to the ground for the third time. Following this, just seconds after is another knockdown delivered by a very powerful right hand. And what seems to be the end of the bout, turns into another rise by Charlie. He lasts about 10 seconds and goes to the ground for good this time.
The bloody fists of Emeka and the swollen face of Charlie are speaking the story for the bout themselves. Despite his unsuccessful MMA career looks like Emeka might make some history in this sport.
